August Achleitner (left), better known as "Mister 911," presented a 911 from the current generation. In doing so, Achleitner explained the history and successful development of Porsche Turbos: "With every new 911 generation, we always put on a new Turbo," he recalled. "The Turbo is and remains the flagship of the 911."
"The car consists of nothing but refinements," Rudi Lins emphasized. The body alone weighs only ten kilograms. "The 909 is composed of the lightest materials ever," said Lins, explaining the 909's special technology.
Grant Larson, the designer of the 981 Bergspyder: "The subject of lightweight construction really appealed to me about the 981. I decided then to leave out everything that wasn't necessary, such as the soft top or the passenger seat."
Back on track at the Weissach run-in and test track: Hans-Joachim Stuck presented the unmistakable sound of the 962 C: "I owe part of my career to this car. There is nothing better than being able to drive this car again," he enthused at the digital sound night.
Walter Röhrl emphasized at the Sound Night that he is particularly fond of the 924 Carrera GT Rallye: "It paved the way for me to Porsche 40 years ago." Roland Kussmaul (right) surprised Walter Röhrl on his birthday this year with the restored 924 Carrera GT Rallye and told how the 924 and Walter Röhrl came together in 1981.
Tony Hatter (in the car), who worked as a designer at Porsche for three decades: "Being able to define a profile for a Porsche Turbo is like a Christmas present." He demonstrated the 911 Turbo 2.7 from 1974. This first 911 Turbo is one-off.
“At Porsche, we always want to dare to take the decisive step and see challenges first and foremost as an opportunity for further development,” says Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Member of the Executive Board for Finance and IT at Porsche AG.
